Jessica Simpson "Extremely Happy" for Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo

Singer Jessica Simpson engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson. Previously, Simpson dated Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo from November 2007 to July 2009. The relationship was controversial among some Dallas Cowboys fans, as she was blamed when Romo had poor football performances.

Simpson, 30, cleared up reports that she wasn't pleased when she heard that Lachey, 37, popped the question to this month to girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, 30.

"I don't know where all those rumors came from," she said. "My mom actually called me and said that everyone was saying that I was 'saddened.' I was just in complete shock."

Simpson and Lachey called it quits in 2005 after three years of marriage. Lachey, a former 98 Degrees singer, started dating Minnillo a year later.

"Our relationship was over a really long time ago," Simpson, who is now dating NFL player Eric Johnson, added. "It would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best."
