The 48-year-old actress, best known for her roles in "Single White Female" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," cited irreconcilable differences in the documents, which were filed on Nov. 15 in Los Angeles Superior Court, People magazine reports.

Leigh, who's real name is Jennifer Morrow, is also seeking physical custody of their 8-month-old son, Rohmer.

The two, who met in 2001 while Leigh was starring on Broadway in "Proof," tied the knot in September 2005 in Los Angeles. Shortly after their wedding, Baumbach said to People magazine at the "Squid and the Whale" premiere, which he wrote and directed, "I expect to be with [Leigh] for the rest of my life."
