NEW YORK (CBS) "Glee" fans got a glimpse into Sue Sylvester's childhood last night - thanks to comedienne Carol Burnett's guest stint as her mother.

Burnett appeared as Doris Sylvester, Sue's somewhat-estranged mother.

Doris appears in Lima after Sue sends out invitations for her wedding (to herself), and the interactions between mother and daughter revealed more of Sue's back story - she and her sister were often left alone while their parents were off traveling the world hunting Nazis.

The two also shared a song together, performing "Ohio" from the musical "Wonderful Town" on the McKinley High School stage.
