Brandy and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday. Brandy and Chmerkovskiy scored higher overall on Monday than Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas. Palin and Brandy both appeared surprised at the outcome.

Palin has faced criticism for her performances on the show. She and Ballas have consistently ranked near the bottom of the leaderboard throughout the competition but viewers' votes have helped the pair outlast high-scorers like Rick Fox and Audrina Patridge.

There has been speculation that members of the Tea Party are voting in greater numbers for Palin and therefore are keeping her safe each week despite her poorer performances than many of the dancers who have been dismissed before her.

Palin's mother, former Alaska governor and Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin has appeared on the show it support of her daughter.

On Monday's "Dancing with the Stars," Jennifer Grey and partner Derek Hough became the first performers this season to score perfect 10s across the board. They danced the Cha Cha Cha and the Waltz and earned raves from everyone.

Palin and Ballas were in last place after Monday's show, receiving the lowest scores of the four couples for their paso doble and waltz.

Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer came in second place and Brandy and Chmerkovskiy came in third place Monday.

Last week Kurt Warner was eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars."
