NEW YORK (CBS) Grammy Award-winning gospel and R&B singer BeBe Winans is praising a new medium - Sirius Radio. Winans is using his pipes as host of "The BeBe Experience," a weekly show on Praise, SIRIUS channel 68 and XM channel 33.
So what will listeners experience on Winans' new radio gig? Besides his favorite current and classic gospel music, he will share stories about various artists, conduct interviews and features with some of his talented and renowned friends in the music and entertainment world.
"I have found that music has a way of helping me through the journey of life," said Winans. "And I am glad to be joining the SIRIUS XM family to reach out to millions through their journey with the music that I love."
Winans has gotten a boost from good friend of Oprah Winfrey, who has been singing his praises.
Winans is a Dove Award and Stellar Award winner, as well as an accomplished performer, writer, producer and songwriter. As part of the legendary Grammy winning brother and sister duo BeBe and CeCe Winans, BeBe is in the midst of ongoing promotion for the current chart topping CD, "Still," the siblings' first album together in 15 years.
The duo has performed for President and Mrs. Obama and recently appeared on "Good Morning America," "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Fox's Good Day New York" and will receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011, along with Winfrey, Penelope Cruz, Simon Fuller and the late Buddy Holly. BeBe and CeCe lead the number of Stellar Award nominations for 2011 with a total of 11 nominations for "Still."
"The BeBe Experience," airs Sundays at 2 p.m. ET and is rebroadcast Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.
