(CBS/WBTV/AP) Investigators are questioning rapper Waka Flocka Flame after a shootout in North Carolina involving the 24-year-old left one person wounded.

Police told CBS affiliate WBTV that the rapper, whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs, was at Car Stereo Warehouse Wednesday afternoon to upgrade the stereo equipment for his tour bus, when gunfire erupted.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spokesman Rob Tufano says two vehicles drove into the store's parking lot around 4 p.m. as the rapper spoke with fans.

Tufano says the men in the car and people in the rapper's party exchanged gunfire.

Al Armstead was inside the store when the shots rang out. "Everybody was ducking," he told WBTV. "They're scared, low, frantic, panicking, knocking stuff over and bumping into each other. It was crazy. It was chaotic."

Tufano told WBTV that the incident is not being called a drive-by shooting but said, "evidently, shots were exchanged from what witnesses are saying."

Police said several shots were fired and that one person was shot in the shoulder. Investigators say the rapper was the likely target of the shooting.

Waka Flaka Flame and three other men were questioned. No arrests have been made.

Waka Flocka is a fairly big name in hip-hop. His current single, "No Hands," is number 11 on the Billboard Hip-Hop chart.
