(CBS/AP) Authorities say a student brought a gun to a Phoenix-area high school intending to shoot a teacher.
A Millennium High School official in Goodyear called police around noon Monday after being alerted that a 15-year-old student on campus had a gun in his backpack.
The Arizona Republic says police found a loaded gun in the student's backpack.
They say the student apparently intended to shoot a teacher with whom he was having problems. The teacher hasn't been identified, and police didn't specify the gun type.
Millennium administrators say the school wasn't put on lockdown because the situation was handled quickly and without incident.
Police say the student is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
