(CBS/AP) Courtney Bowles, the 31-year-old Loveland, Colo. high school teacher accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student, has been ordered to stay away from anyone under the age of 18 - and that includes her own kids.
Bowles was arrested on Jan. 21 at a Loveland park after police say she was found naked in a car with the boy, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports. The boy was allegedly also naked.
Bowles, an instructional coach at Mountain View High School, was charged with suspicion of sexual assault on a child and appeared in court Monday. She was also charged with suspicion of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Bowles will be allowed to talk to her daughters but only by phone.
The Coloradoan reports that a judge ruled Bowles can talk to the girls for up to 30 minutes every other day. Her husband must listen in to the conversations.
"I know this will have a significant impact on Ms. Bowles' ability to see her own children," Magistrate Matthew Zehe said according to the Coloradoan.
Ironically - to say the least - a spokesman for the school district said Bowles' role was instructing teachers about keeping a professional distance with students, according to Denver station KDVR.
She is being held on $50,000 person recognizance bond.
