(CBS/AP) A man convicted of drunken driving and aggravated vehicular homicide for killing two counselors from an upstate New York summer camp last June has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Authorities say Peter Goldblatt of Indian Lake swerved and hit the two Camp Echo Lake counselors as they stood beside a road in the southeastern Adirondack Mountains. Killed were Emily Lewis of Scotland and Dominic Hartley of England, both 21.

The victims had been with a larger group of counselors on a night before the campers arrived for the summer, according to CBS affiliate WRGB.

Goldblatt was convicted in December. The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that he received the maximum sentence Friday.
